This is a trial in conjunction with Warwick University and Agrii, provider of agronomy services, technology and strategic advice. We have grown 3 varieties, Godiva and Olivia for cooking and Capulet to make baked beans. All are UK bred varieties, to suit our climate, soils and farming systems. Godiva and Olivia have been grown successfully this year at Warwick Uni. We had the only field of Capulet which some of the harvested beans will go to Princes for canning trials, the rest we will use to plant more acres next year.
Thank you to New Holland dealer Russels for the loan of the combine and MacDon header which without these, the crop would of been extremely difficult to harvest.
