I’m back from a month away in Singapore, New Zealand, and Australia and straight into spring work.
Barry has been really busy while we were away, widening bridges and field entrances for the combine which will be harvesting all our crops for the foreseeable future.
We look at some of the wheat crops and see the difference between ones planted in good conditions in early October against those planted early November after sugar beet.
Justin, Ken and Dan spread 150 acres with poultry manure, Max is dragging rutted headlands, spraying round up and applying nitrogen to wheats. Justin then goes on the Vaderstad drill planting spring barley while I help muck out Porters chickens.
So lots of farming things happening at a very busy time of the year.
