We’ve got potato problems!

7.00pm - Monday 20th January 2025 13,693

In this video, we’re back in the shop working on a few projects to get things organized and ready for the season. First, we tackle setting up a new aluminum storage box to protect our torch and other tools from the elements. After years of sun exposure, the old torch hose had rotted away, so we’re mounting the box on a roll-out tray for easy access and adding a reel to keep everything neat and functional. We also focus on adding rubber and weather stripping to prevent corrosion between the aluminum and steel.

Next, we check on the potato cellars, inspecting the temperature, humidity, and overall condition of the stored potatoes. Some heaters and humidifiers are acting up, but we troubleshoot and share the steps to ensure the potatoes stay in good shape. We also talk about how to handle sprouted and rotten potatoes to prevent further issues.

Finally, it’s back to the shop to finish mounting the storage box and get it bolted down securely. The reel is installed, gas lines are routed, and the final touches, like silicone seals, are added to keep everything durable and ready to go.

Thanks for watching, and don’t forget to check out the National Western Stock Show if you’re in the area! See you in the next one!
