In this special follow-up to our behind-the-scenes look at the fertiliser industry, we head back to Sunderland to board the Key Bay as she loads fertiliser bound for Great Yarmouth. This time, we don’t just watch from the quay, we live it. From navigating out of port and driving the ship ourselves (with mixed results!) to spending a night at sea, we bring you an unfiltered look at life on board a working vessel.
Along the way we tour the engine room, explore the kitchen, and learn how liquid fertiliser is handled and shipped across the country before it reaches farms like ours. We also check in on the Nitrasol terminal in Great Yarmouth, where we see the next steps in the process and talk about what these imports mean for UK agriculture.
