Our hop yard is getting better year to year. It is a tricky plant to grow and takes a really experienced grower to do well. With some of the hop varieties in our yard not doing well and with the experience of a couple years under our belt we're restarting with a few new varieties in certain areas of the hop yard.
We replaced Willamette, Northern Brewer, and Centennial with Michigan Copper and Bitter Gold. We're focused on aromatic varieties so they can be showcased in the beers we make with those hops.
We bought started plants from Great Lakes Hops. Their website has tons of good resources for going hops. I'm going to recommend clicking the link below for hops resources and more information about plants.
