Always collecting e-mails when you are at a market or any kind of event where you see people face-to-face is good practice. Taking those e-mail addresses home and adding them to your list is even better practice (because then it's not wasted effort).

Today I added in the 16 e-mail addresses that I collected from last weekend's farmers' market. Then I created and scheduled a broadcast e-mail to update those subscribers along with my "old" subscribers.
