What tasks do you have to do on your farm or homestead that don't make or save you money but need to get done? Leave your answer in the comments below.

A little farm fun this morning. We have a couple beavers that plug up the spillway to our 5 acre pond. The "worst case scenario" is that the pod gets too full and the beaver dam breaks which could damage my neighbors' driveways down the street. To be a good neighbor I keep it clear by clearing the sticks nad mud every couple days as needed.

The whole property here is about 50 acres. While I'd like to live in a world where everything I do on farm serves a financially positive purpose, sometimes you just have to call sheninigans and get your odd-jobs done.

After making decisions, managing people, and working on farm, at times clearing the dam can be a nice "break" from the norm.
