There are really two choices when it comes to raising broiler chickens for meat. There are other breeds but it all boils down to the cornish cross and the red rangers.
For my holistic farm picture this year I am going with the cornish cross primarily. They are more predicable for me, easy to manage the way I manage them, and I can offer consistency to my customers that way.
Pastured poultry is just one operation on my farm and I had to balance the broiler production against everything else I have stacked up for this year.
