Stockpile grazing for livestock is the process of leaving grass and forage in your pasture instead of cutting it and storing it as hay.
Feeding your livestock this way can save a lot of time, money, and effort. Instead of making hay and running equipment you're using your grazing chart to defer and rest areas of your pasture so that the cows can graze it after the frost.
While Troy won't admit that he's great at it, his grass speaks for itself. HIs pastures are lush and beautiful. When he started stockpile grazing his last grazing date was November 18th. Just four years later he's grazing all the way until December 11th. With 60 cows how much money in feed does that save? Not just feed but labor. it's a wonderful thing.
If you want to hear more detailed info about stockpile grazing let us know. Troy really has it down and we'd love to share the info with you.
