My apples trees were planted on M9 and M11 root stock. I lost a bunch of trees this winter to rodents girdling them, but new shoots are coming back from the roots of the apple trees and needless to say that makes me pretty happy!

My plan now is to keep those dwarf rootstock going and graft new scions (branches) onto them in the fall.
