We are raising 1200 chickens this year on farm and we're going to need to sell them. We balance between a CSA farm share and direct retail sales.

The CSA allows for up front income to get the season started. It also gives me the chance to see and connect with the same people week to week (which is great).

The direct retail sales gives us the opportunity to make a little more money per chicken as well as cater to impulse buys or those customers who don't want to commit to a 20 week season.
