I know I know, I was talking about this last year as well. I took the year and tried to get my hens productive while staying true to my management ethics.

I am taking the year to do more research and come back with the best possible way to raise chickens on pasture. There is plenty of half-science out there and I worry about what some of the other... content producers who are not full time farmers are saying about how to raise chickens. Like putting sweaters on chickens for instance, terrible idea, very bad for the health of the chicken.

So, 2016 it will be one of my pet projects to read the science, work with the Connecticut Poultry Association and APPPA to figure out all of the variables and how we can "control" them in a smaller scale pasture based system.

I will publish videos on this project as I go so that we can make discoveries together and learn with each other in order to get eggs at a place where the birds are safe and healthy and the farmer doesn't suffer the low margins.
