Chicken poop and shavings are added or completely cleaned out every week. With around 120 hens in teh coop the manure builds up and it is a good idea tokeep the chickens' are clean.

The frist week we put out enough shavings to cover the floor, then the second week we add some more to keep it dry. The third week we shovel them out and move it to the compost pile to break down.
