It has been an extremely busy week on the farm. The snow is finally starting to melt and the roads are nice and sloppy. It is nearly impossible to keep a vehicle clean right now. Dad, Cooper, and I work on a lot of shop projects that have needed to be done for years. The combine cab needed cleaned out so our combine mechanic has a nice environment to work in when he comes. I addressed some storage issues we have been having with air hoses on the floor in the shop by utilizing our hoist. While I was drilling, welding, and grinding on that, my dad was servicing our Massey Ferguson 4880 4WD so will be ready for spring work.
Once these first projects were completed we concluded it was much too sloppy outside to do anything so we tackled a project that was started 8 years ago, conduit. We only needed to run one new strand of conduit for the wires that the ceiling fans used. We made a quick run to town to pick up supplies and came back to put it together. Wiring is a job that looks like it will only take a couple hours but in reality it took a couple days. While we were at it with wiring, we ended up adding in another outlet between the shop doors and mounted a retractable extension cord under it as well. I also wanted to add in another door opener for the big shop door so I wired in another button on the other side of the door only to find out I did not wire it correctly. I figured it out after doing a bit of calling around.
Many people have been asking for it, so here it is. Cooper tells the story of his 1977 F-150 Ranger and gives a description of everything he has done to it. You will get a complete walk around as well as a sound clip of the engine running. It is a beautiful truck and he has done an excellent job with it.
