After being at school for a week, I take a visit to see what is new in the shop. The Hagie STS10 got brought down from winter storage into the heated shop to be serviced, the White 6180 planter got put back together, and the Massey Ferguson 4880 received some finishing repairs. The John Deere 4840, the planter tractor, had a GPS guidance system installed in it as well as a row-shutoff module. We are excited to see how much this technology will help boost the efficiency of our farm.
We wanted to get the Freightliner semi brought home, cleaned up, and hooked onto the sprayer tanks. The Freightliner had a dead battery, so we ran a few errand while it was on the battery charger. I power-washed the grain trailer and brought it back over to the main farm. After having troubles with the trailer jacks, we tucked the trailer away in the big machine shed.
I stayed up way later than I should have helping my friend change the oil in his car, as well as flush the transmission fluid in his car. It was quite the learning process for both of us. Since I was up super late, I decided to clean the shop before I went to bed. I ended up staying in the shop until 3:00 a.m. and then I passed out. Dad will give you a recap about what happened!
Dad gives out life advice, as well as advice for longevity. I finally woke up and got the sprayer cab cleaned out, sent the 4880 over to the farm to hook up to the reel disc, the shop cleaned up, the planter unfolded and inspected. I also finally got the snowmobiles loaded and put in their summer vacation home as well!
