Honestly, keeping it real is so important especially in this crazy social media world, I could have just made a sweet video of me walking with the dogs and frolicking with a child in the sunset but let’s be honest…. I’m aching, no joke I feel like I’ve been run over by a bus mentally and physically I wake up every morning sounding like my grandma getting out of bed. I wrestle cows and get shit on EVERY DAY I sat in a field the other day and cried (I don’t mean a little bit I mean full on on the floor mess) because some sheep got away on me and an electric fence wasn’t working. I am being humbled pretty bloody fast I’m not as strong as I thought I was or as knowledgable I do not have my shit together at all my house is a mess and yet we love it, it’s a whole way of life it is all consuming and changes the very fiber of your being. It’s all we talk about it’s all we think about. It puts life into stark perspective when something living or dying relies on your ability to care for it.

Social media is on the side it’s not the real thing. Farming is the real thing that we post ABOUT if socials were taken away tomorrow life would carry on as normal farming would demand the same as normal, just as it does when there’s illness or when someone dies or a pandemic, these numbers you see they mean NOTHING they are just silly numbers. We read about social media ruining children’s lives and yet as adults we watch our peers going the same way placing their value in the little numbers on the screen. I watched hundreds of people despair at a platform closing down in the US and thought how I would react if the same were to happen to me. I am watching people buy followings to keep up and chase that happiness, chasing happiness is going outside and walking your dog. Making good food and enjoying it, it’s not found in numbers on a screen on a platform that could all disappear in an instant. Keep it real guys.
